These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are a legal agreement between you, the parent or guardian who holds the account, and the operator of S.E.A. Space Academy (“we”, “us”, “our”). They cover the website, the app and any paid plans (together, the “Service”). Please read them carefully. Our Privacy Policy and Disclaimer form part of these Terms.
1. Accepting these Terms
By creating an account, ticking the sign-up box or using the Service, you agree to these Terms, the Privacy Policy and the Disclaimer. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Age and who may hold an account
- The account holder must be 18 years of age or older and the parent or legal guardian of each child added, or a teacher acting with the parent’s or guardian’s permission.
- The Service is intended for children (about ages 8 to 12) using it under the supervision of their parent or guardian. Children may not create accounts.
- You are responsible for the profiles you add, the information you enter and how the Service is used on your devices.
3. Your limited licence
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service for personal, non-commercial home use with your own children, or for non-commercial classroom use by a teacher with their own class. You may print pages and practice papers only for those uses. No other licence or right is granted, whether by implication or otherwise.
4. Intellectual property
All content and materials in the Service, including lessons, questions, mock papers, explanations, stories, books, audio, scripts, artwork, characters, avatars, designs, software and code, and the name and logo “S.E.A. Space Academy”, are owned by or licensed to the operator, S.E.A. Space Academy, and are protected by copyright, trademark and other laws of Trinidad and Tobago and other countries. © 2026 S.E.A. Space Academy. All rights reserved. Content may not be copied or redistributed.
No part of the Service may be copied, saved, screenshotted for sharing, printed for distribution, scraped, downloaded, republished, translated, adapted or redistributed, in any form or by any means, without the prior written permission of the operator, except for the limited personal, household use allowed in section 3 (for example, printing a worksheet for your own child). Copy-protection measures in the Service must not be removed or bypassed.
Some library stories are our own retellings of public-domain tales (such as Aesop’s fables, Anansi stories, the Brothers Grimm, Hans Christian Andersen and Rudyard Kipling’s Just So Stories). The original tales are in the public domain; our retold wording, illustrations and questions belong to us. The offline spelling dictionary is derived from SCOWL and used under its licence.
Reporting a problem or infringement: if you believe something in the Service infringes your rights, or you see our content copied elsewhere, use the Help chat on our home page or message us on WhatsApp with the details so it can be looked into promptly.
5. Prohibited uses
You must not, and must not allow anyone else to:
- copy, reproduce, republish, distribute, sell, resell, rent, license or share any content, in whole or in part, except as allowed in section 3;
- scrape, crawl, bulk-download or use bots or automated tools to access or collect content;
- reverse engineer, decompile, modify, or try to bypass access controls, payment or security features;
- share account logins, or let people outside your household or class use your account;
- use the content to build a competing product or to train software or artificial-intelligence models;
- remove copyright or ownership notices;
- use the Service for anything unlawful, harmful, hateful or abusive, or enter such material in writing tasks;
- overload, disrupt or interfere with the Service or pretend to be someone else.
6. Your child’s answers and writing
Answers, scores, writing and other content entered by your child or you (“User Content”) remain yours. You grant us a limited licence to store, process and display User Content only as needed to run the Service for you (for example, marking answers and showing them in the parent report). It is stored in the cloud for your family only and on your device, as explained in the Privacy Policy. We do not use it for advertising and do not sell it.
7. PINs and account security
Keep your email account and your parent PIN confidential and choose child PINs that are not easy to guess. Child PINs are only a simple way for children to choose their own profile; they are not strong security. You are responsible for all activity on your account and devices. If you suspect misuse, use the Help chat on our home page or message us on WhatsApp promptly.
8. Prices and paid plans
New accounts get a 7-day free trial. After that, the programme costs TT$300 / US$45 a month, paid through WiPay (cards from abroad are converted by your bank). Access is switched on after your payment is confirmed, usually within 24 hours. Any change in price will be shown before you are charged. Questions about billing: use the Help chat on our home page or message us on WhatsApp.
9. No guarantee of exam results
The Service is a practice and learning aid. We do not promise or guarantee any examination score, pass, ranking, secondary school placement or other educational outcome. See the Disclaimer.
10. Third-party services
Parts of the Service depend on things we do not control, such as your web browser and device, the browser’s or operating system’s speech recognition (for example from Google or Apple), website hosting (Netlify) and our cloud database and sign-in provider (Supabase), the payment service (WiPay) and the AI service used by Ask Ms. Maya (Google Gemini). Their availability, accuracy and privacy practices are their responsibility, not ours, and we are not liable for them.
11. Disclaimer of warranties
THE SERVICE AND ALL CONTENT ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”, WITH ALL FAULTS AND WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, SATISFACTORY QUALITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, SECURE OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS, TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
In plain words: we work hard to make the Service accurate and reliable, but it may contain mistakes, may change, and may be unavailable at times. Automatic marking, speech recognition and writing feedback can be wrong.
12. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE OPERATOR AND ANYONE ACTING FOR THE OPERATOR WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY OR PUNITIVE LOSS OR DAMAGE, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA OR PROGRESS, LOSS OF OPPORTUNITY, OR EDUCATIONAL-OUTCOME LOSS (INCLUDING EXAM RESULTS OR SCHOOL PLACEMENT), HOWEVER CAUSED AND EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, WHICH IS TT$0 FOR FREE USE.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law (for example, liability for fraud, or rights you have as a consumer that cannot be waived).
13. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless the operator from any claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your or your household’s misuse of the Service, your breach of these Terms, or your breach of any law or third-party right.
14. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Service at any time and delete your information as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend, restrict or end access to the Service, or any part of it, at any time, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe these Terms have been broken, to protect the Service or other users, or if we stop offering the Service. Sections that by their nature should continue (including 4, 9 to 13, and 16 to 18) survive termination.
15. Force majeure
We are not responsible for any delay or failure caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including power or internet outages, failures of hosting or browser providers, natural disasters, flooding, disease, government action, strikes or civil unrest.
16. Resolving disputes
Talk to us first. If you have a complaint or dispute, please use the Help chat on our home page or message us on WhatsApp with a description and your contact details. We will try in good faith to resolve it informally within 30 days. If it is not resolved within 30 days, either side may take it further.
Governing law and courts. These Terms and any dispute about them or the Service are governed by the laws of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, and the courts of Trinidad and Tobago have exclusive jurisdiction, except where mandatory consumer law of your home country gives you the right to bring a claim there.
17. General terms
- Entire agreement: these Terms, the Privacy Policy and the Disclaimer are the whole agreement between you and us about the Service.
- Severability: if any part of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the rest stays in full effect, and the affected part is applied as far as the law allows.
- No waiver: if we do not enforce a right straight away, we have not given it up.
- Assignment: you may not transfer your rights under these Terms. We may transfer ours, for example if the Service is sold or reorganised, as long as your rights are not reduced.
- Changes: we may update these Terms. We will change the date at the top and, for important changes, show a notice in the app before they apply. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the updated Terms.
